About this writing
Why I write
Most of what I write begins as an incident I could not shake: a chance conversation, a long drive that became a journey of another kind, a quiet morning on a trek, a moment of loss or of unexpected kindness. Life rarely explains itself while it is happening, so I write to understand why something stayed with me. Some of these pieces are true, some are imagined around something true, and a few I can no longer tell apart. I write them for myself first, alongside a working life spent building things, and I share them here in the hope that you will find a moment of your own in them.
The poems are entirely my own. Some of the stories began as my own incidents and drafts, and I used AI tools to refine the language and fill in the gaps in the telling. The illustrations were created with AI tools, including Claude.
