Eternal Journey

Dedicated to the 2019 Pulwama attack victims

Illustration for the poem Eternal Journey

It was our journey to the borders through curves and chilly winds,
Sharing between us the memories of recent holiday with our family and friends.

We were on a route that was familiar we had taken several times,
It was not just us but also our commander was in joy reciting his children rhymes.

Strange was the celebration in the bus with an air of fey,
Bus was cruising with a blanket of security en-route our way.

Out of the blue there was thud and a blast,
none of us realised that we were now the past.

There were thousands who wept and cried out our name,
Blessed are we in a short notice to be in the limelight and fame.

It was just our bodies that was shattered and blown away,
As our passion and love for the country in back to the clay.

We will emerge stronger and mightier than ever before,
Mother, we will be reborn to secure you from mountains to sea shore.
